The Friday Five - March 21, 2025

Hi, friends! Welcome to this week's Friday Five! Let's get started.

Spring weather has finally started showing it's face in Chicago, and I couldn't be happier! It really is so wild how a little sunshine can drastically improve your mood! The temps have still be up and down, but overall the clouds have moved and the vitamin D is in full supply! It's making me so excited for summer!

Earlier this month I had the pleasure of traveling down to Texas to visit some college friends I hadn't seen in a while, including meeting my friend's new baby! It was such a great trip, and a much needed mental reset. There's nothing like being with good friends to fill up your cup. And of course, eating damn good food, too!

This month I'm celebrating my one year milestone of being a virtual assistant! I can't believe it's been an entire year - in some ways it feels like it's been five minutes, and other ways it feels like five years. This year has truly been a learning lesson in SO much, from the type of clients I want to work for, the kind of work I love to do, how I want to move forward as a business owner, and above all, that I LOVE doing this as a job. Don't get me wrong, it has it's hard moments, and I think about giving up almost ten times each week, but I can honestly say I'm more content career-wise than I've been in a long time. Here's to the next year, and beyond!

Speaking on the topic of career moves & ambitions, there has been a lot happening behind the scenes with other business plans, goals and things coming to fruition ! I can't give all the details yet, because I love the element of surprise, but I am SO excited for what's to come around the corner. I'm still busting my booty working as a VA and keeping up with Follow The Curve, so most days my schedule is filled. But I wouldn't have it any other way, because it's all about doing things that I love. I was definitely bitten by the entreprenuer bug, and I won't be quitting any time soon!
When I was in Texas, I bought a stack of new books! My best friend and I spent the day book store hopping around town, and boy did I clean house! If you follow me on Instagram, you can see all the titles I grabbed in my latest reel I posted, but I'll put the full list here, too! I can't wait to dive in, and of course I'll post reviews when I get around to reading them!
